Travel to Turin

Arriving by train or bus

Turin’s main international transport hubs, located in the city center, are also the closest train stations to Politecnico di Torino (15-20min walking distance): Porta Susa and Porta Nuova.
The closest main bus terminals are located next to Porta Susa station: Corso Vittorio Emanuele terminal (long-distance buses FlixBus and Flibco) and Corso Bolzano terminal (Arriva Italia buses from/to Torino and Milano Malpensa airports).

Arriving at Torino (TRN) airport

Torino-Caselle (TRN) is Turin’s closest airport, located just 17 km north from the city center and well served by multiple transport options:
• Train: Trenitalia lines sfm4, sfm6, and sfm7 connect Torino Aeroporto di Caselle to Torino Porta Susa (≈30min).
• Bus: Arriva Italia and Flibco have direct connections to the city center, with stops at Porta Susa (≈35min) and Porta Nuova (≈45min).
• Taxis, Online Reservation Platforms: these services are available at a dedicated area outside the Arrivals hall (≈30min to the city center, depending on traffic).

Arriving at Milan’s airports: Malpensa (MXP) | Linate (LIN) | Bergamo (BGY)

Milano Malpensa (MXP) airport is the largest of the three and serves as Milan’s primary international gateway. Although located about 50 km northwest of the city center, it offers easy transport options to reach Turin:
• Bus: Arriva Italia and Flibco have direct connections to Torino Porta Susa (≈1h45min).
• Train: Trenitalia connects both airport terminals Malpensa Aeroporto T1/T2 to Milano Centrale or Milano Porta Garibaldi train stations (≈1h); from either station, passengers can go to Torino Porta Susa and Torino Porta Nuova (≈50min by high-speed Trenitalia and Italo trains or ≈1h40min by regular Trenitalia trains).

Milano Linate (LIN) airport is the closest to the city, located just 8 km east of Milan’s center. The best way to travel to Turin is to reach Milan Central station by metro and then take a train:
• Metro: Milan metro M4 blue line connects the airport to the city center; passengers are requested to change to the M3 yellow line to reach Milano Centrale (≈30min).
• Train: Italo and Trenitalia connect Milano Centrale to Torino Porta Susa and Torino Porta Nuova (≈50min by high-speed train or ≈1h40min by regular train).

Milan Bergamo (BGY) airport, also known as Orio al Serio, is located about 45 km northeast of Milan. The best way to travel to Turin is to reach Milan Central station by bus and then take a train:
• Bus: Flibco and Autostradale have direct connections to Milano Centrale (≈1h).
• Train: Italo and Trenitalia connect Milano Centrale to Torino Porta Susa and Torino Porta Nuova (≈50min by high-speed train or ≈1h40min by regular train).
